About Baltimore Gift Economy
Baltimore Gift Economy aims to spread inclusive love, teach people how to share despite difficulties, make them aware of the abundance around them, and assist them in realizing the value of using their skills and gifts to benefit others. We believe that by treating others with dignity and helping them understand their gifts, communities can be strengthened and rebuilt from the inside out.
Facing challenging situations, sometimes we struggle to see past our own needs. It’s easy for people to wonder if they have anything to give, to share. By rethinking our circumstances, we can choose to “give one percent of our talent, time, and/or resources” as a continuous commitment to engagement, thereby releasing the boundless potential within our lives.
Change can come in a massive flash, or in the slow rhythm of a seed-bearing fruit. Baltimore Gift Economy believes a more caring, life-giving economy is possible one moment at a time; one heart at a time; reminding people of their value while helping them give value to others.

Baltimore Gift Economy’s mission is to “Build talent and capacity in the best interest of long-term community growth.”
We are fulfilling our mission by working to provide resources and services to communities that will help uplift, empower, and fill the needs of their members. Some of the recurrent ways we’re doing that are through Baltimore Gift Economy’s initiatives, such as the Five Little Shares Community Supported Market.
The most important component of everything that Baltimore Gift Economy forges is the exchange among community members. All our services are for community members, and without their support, help, and input, we would not get very far in fulfilling our mission.
