BGiftE Urban Homestead
BGiftE Urban Homestead is a community-led project that promotes sustainable urban agriculture education and participatory community engagement through a collaborative and environmentally conscious permaculture demonstration homestead site. This site encourages community participation and engagement in various activities. Situated in the Collins Streamside Community in Irvington, this project aims to enhance awareness and understanding of sustainable practices.
Through workshops, seasonal events, and hands-on learning opportunities, the homestead fosters intergenerational connections and empowers residents to apply sustainable techniques in their own homes and neighborhoods. The project also serves as a living classroom, highlighting the value of local food systems, environmental stewardship, and collective action in building resilient communities.
